Settlement Agencies
Settlement agencies provide direct support to immigrants in the community. In Elgin County and St. Thomas there are two agencies.
Mennonite Community Services
Mennonite Community Services takes the health and safety of our clients, volunteers and staff seriously. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic all of our program offices are closed. We continue to provide support for essential appointments in the Mom & Baby program. And our Newcomer Settlement and Employment staff are ready to help you by telephone, email or WhatsApp messaging. Clients calling the main line will be directed to appropriate staff working from home. Please check our website and social media platforms for any updates.
YWCA Settlement Services
To help prevent the spread of Covid-19, the Settlement Services’ office is closed until further notice. Services for newcomers to Canada are offered online, by email and telephone. Please contact us if you or your family need help with settlement issues or accessing government and community services. Staff can also help to provide information and resources about the Covid-19 situation. All services are free. Interpretation and translation services may be available upon request.
