Often there is a misconception that all immigrants are visible minorities, this is not that case. In Elgin County the immigrant population is predominantly coming from a European background and as such do not typically appear to be visible minorities. In Elgin the east has the highest rate of immigration, but also some of the lowest rates of visible minorities in the population.
