On Saturday, March 7th, STELIP was thrilled to collaborate with the YWCA St. Thomas Elgin for their annual Women’s Day event. Sarah Foshay, one of the From There to Here Cookbook participants, was the lunch guest speaker and the book was available for purchase.

This empowering event included 3 workshops and lunch for $45. It was an empowering, creative day for women of all ages.

“My vision of the book and the motive behind it is embracing differences, embracing newcomers and embracing traditions,” says Sarah. She was born in Canada but her family traces it’s ancestry back to late-Middle-Ages Germany, Prussia and Holland and the founding of the Mennonite Church. They eventually emigrated to Mexico and subsequently Canada, her traditional family cuisine is a mixture of those cultures.
