After weeks of planning and filming with local photographer Grayden Laing, STELIP was proud to launch their #CultureLivesHere video on Facebook on June 18th, and then again a few days later within local Tim Hortons in St. Thomas and Aylmer, Galaxy Cinema in St. Thomas and the OnRoute location off of the 401 near West Lorne.
In promotion of local culture and diversity in St. Thomas and Elgin County, the video features residents from throughout the region holding both the flag of their home country–including Japan, Syria, Mexico and Nigeria to name a few–and their new country, Canada.
Since being released onto Facebook, the video has garnered over 3,700 views; a tremendously successful campaign and an inspiring indication of the community’s support and embrace of culture and diversity in the region.
